Saigontourist Travel is honored to accompany the organization of MICE tour for a group of 60 foreign journalists and cultural diplomatic officers residing in Vietnam to visit Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Tre province. The program is hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, with the coordination of the Departments, branches of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking place from December 1 to 5, 2021.
The MICE tour brings the delegation to visit and discover the economy, culture and society of Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Tre province in the period of socio-economic recovery and development in “new normal” state. Through this actual trip, international reporters will have an honest, close-up look at the daily life rhythms, the recovery state of socio-economic, tourism activities in two regions. They will also discover many cultural and historic sites of the city and surrounding areas. Thereby, the program is expected to create a connected bridge for the international media to promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City as an attractive investment destination, which is gradually recovering and developing; Ho Chi Minh City is a major tourist hub connecting with southern localities through a program to visit many tourist attractions in Ben Tre.
The international delegation arrived and checked-in at Rex Hotel Saigon in the evening of December 1 and stayed there for 4 nights. During the time of experiencing the services in the hotel, the delegation attended two programs held at the Rex Hotel Saigon, including: “Speech on the restoration and development of tourism & socio-economic of Ho Chi Minh City” and “Cultural and Culinary Exchange”.
Meanwhile, for 4-day tour schedule, Saigontourist Travel takes the delegation to visit Ben Tre, Cu Chi Northwest Industrial Zone, Thu Duc City, exploring Can Gio with river tour experience by speedboat and attending the Opening Ceremony of the 17th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival. The delegation also participated in some activities at “Book Street” and the City tour with distinctive part “Following the Saigon Special Forces Footprint”.
Besides ensuring thoughtful activities for international guests, the tour program also opens up unique experiences at featured destinations such as Can Gio – the largest mangrove forest and also the green lung, recognized by UNESCO as world biosphere reserve in 2000, Vam Sat eco-tourism area, bird, turmeric bat sanctuaries… along with attractive activities such as canoeing through the mangroves, conquering Tang Bong tower and experiencing crab and crocodile fishings. The delegation also had interesting experiences with the “Following Saigon Special Forces Footprint” tour when having the opportunity to learn about the activities of the Old Saigon Commandos, visit the Secret Weapons Tunnel and the Saigon-Gia Dinh Special Forces Intelligence Museum. They also visited Ben Tre with many interesting experiences and discoveries such as walking in large ecological garden space, experiencing folk activities and enjoying attractive local specialties of the Southwest region.
The program took place with the criteria of ensuring safety, strictly meeting the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. All participants in the program from guests to hotel staff, chefs, waiters, guides, drivers, logistics personnel at all destinations are fully vaccinated, tested negative within 72 hours and asked for “5K Message” compliance. The working and visiting program is organized according to the “closed bubble” model, with a “closed path”.
